Acura announce collaboration with ORECA for LMDh, and partner teams

The championship winning combination is set to continue into the new era
Acura Motorsports have confirmed that they will work with ORECA to produce the ARX-06 LMDh prototype.
The manufacturer also announced they will continue their race-winning partnerships with four-time Rolex 24 winners and current DPi Teams’ champions Wayne Taylor Racing, in addition to 2021 DPi graduates and IndyCar outfit Meyer Shank Racing.
Following continued success throughout the DPi era with the ORECA 07-based ARX-05, it is no surprise to see Honda Performance Development select ORECA as their supplier.
Throughout their time together, Acura and ORECA swept all three major IMSA DPi championships in 2019 and 2020, and scored Acura’s first overall victory – thanks to Wayne Taylor Racing – at the legendary Rolex 24 in January this year.
David Salters, Technical Director at HPD said “We expect the technical challenges of LMDh to be great, and competition among all of the manufacturers and teams to be intense.
“Together with ORECA and our partner teams, we are truly excited to be a part of IMSA at the dawn of the LMDh era.”
The car is slated to make its debut in 2023.
Acura become the second brand to confirm a collaboration with the French organisation following Alpine’s announcement in October.
